SEO/Marketing No Comments »

This article has been brought to you by the webmaster of How To Make Money Online and Get Paid To Take Surveys.

First off I want to say backlinks are the driving force behind the web and is how Google not only finds websites, but also decides where to place them in the index. Simply what this means for us webmasters is if we want to make it online we need to focus our marketing efforts on backlinks creation which can be done a few different ways. Now before you go off building backlinks everywhere and anywhere it is a good idea to first learn about the best type of backlink and what not to do when building backlinks.

First lets discuss what a backlink is and the different kinds of backlinks which webmasters should be looking for. A backlink is a hyperlink which points to your URL from an external web presence. Backlinks should not be confused with internal links which are links on your web presence pointing to another page within your site. Personally I like to place the backlinks in a ranking system of 1-10 10 being the absolutely best and hardest backlinks to come by, but if your very patient and willing to work very hard you can accumulate them. 1 backlinks are the easiest to get and are usually not worth the work getting them. Here is the list:

10- A link which points to your website that is one way (no exchange or swap), high authority (high Page Rank), and very relevant to your niche (category of website such as business or marketing).

7- A link which is reciprocated (exchanged or swaped), high authority, and relevant to your niche.

5- A link which is reciprocated, high authority, but not relevant to your niche.

3- A link which is reciprocated, low authority, but very relevant to your niche.

1- The crappy backlinks are reciprocated, low authority, and not relevant to your niche.

Usually the best examples of 1 links are those from link farms and will usually do quite a bit more harm than good. Personally I find the best links are one way and relevant to my niche. If you are interested in acquiring these types of links I recommend searching Google for the Free Traffic System. I have found this system extremely useful in gaining one way high authority relevant links and I am sure if you use the system you will find the same ease when trying to acquire links. There are also a few different ways to get links which will help push your website to the top of Google and let you become the rich powerful sit at home boss you dream of. If you want free one way links try, article writing, forum posting, video marketing, blogging, guest posting, writing reviews, social bookmarking, social networking, and cover pages such as squidoo and hub pages.

What’s a spyware?

In laptop technology, spyware refers to a kind of program that “spies” on what users do with their computers. Through this close monitoring, spyware gathers info regarding the user and sends this information over the World Wide Web for another person’s or a company’s benefit. This is sometimes done without the user’s knowledge.

Spyware can gather various informations on laptop users. Some programs are virtually harmless since they only send off popup ads or attempt to follow the types of internet sites users visit and send the collected data to completely different advertisement agencies. However, nastier versions could try to require note of what the users’ type so as to catch passwords or event credit card numbers.

How did spyware start?

In keeping with records, the term “spyware” was first used on October 17, 1994 in a posting made on a globally distributed bulletin board system, Usenet. Later on, spyware came to be called espionage apparatus, like tiny cameras. But, Gregor Freund, founder of Zone Labs (a security software company), used the term in one of his press releases for a product, sealing the word’s place in computer users’ lingo.

In 2000, Steve Gibson, owner of Gibson Research (a pc software development firm), discovered that advertising software parts from 2 corporations had been put in in his system and even suspected them of collecting info without his knowledge. He retracted this claim later on, but still he reprimanded the advertising companies Aureate and Conducent for secretly putting in the spyware and giving him a hard time to get rid of it.

With this event, Gibson made and released OptOut, the primary ever anti-spyware program. Several others followed suit and came up with their own antidotes.

Consistent with a survey conducted by the National Cyber-Security Alliance and AOL in 2004, a whopping eighty% of computers had spyware, with nearly 93 spyware workings per computer. 89% of the participants within the survey said they weren’t conscious of the existence of the spyware, whereas ninety five% said they didn’t provide any permission for the installation of any spyware program.

As of today, spyware has become the top and primary security threat to computer systems running under Microsoft Windows. Internet Explorer users are under fire more often than not as a result of of its status.

What are the sources of spyware?

Here are many sources of spyware infection:

• utilities that claim to make your Web experience faster
• programs that are said to provide special offers while shopping via the web
• programs that may provide smileys, animated and colorful cursors, etc.
• file-sharing programs
• spyware programs disguised as antispyware applications

How are you going to tell if your laptop sustained spyware infection?

Here are clues that will help you determine if spyware is on your pc:

• various popup advertisements, even on Web sites that don’t usually have ads
• the browser home page changes out of the blue and won’t change back
• new and unfamiliar toolbars appear in the browser
• extra icons materialize at the corner of the screen where the clock is
• the browser takes you to web-sites you don’t wish to be in the first place

How do you take away spyware from your laptop?

When knowing some background information on what spyware is, its history and development, its sources, and also the clues that your laptop sustained spyware harm, let’s talk concerning a resolution to the problem.

The best and safest approach by far to get rid of spyware from your laptop is to use anti-spyware programs. These applications are somewhat just like anti-virus software.

With the necessity we have for computers today, it might be a very big trouble if they won’t work correctly. So make positive that your computers are in high condition. Eliminate the spyware program in your computer today!

Gateway LT3114u Netbook: Dual Boot Ubuntu Linux And Vista

Operating Systems No Comments »

Dual booting Ubuntu linux and Windows Vista on a Gateway Lt3114u network can be done pretty easily and within a hour. Here are the items you will need to dual boot Microsoft Vista and Ubuntu on a Gateway netbook.

* Gateway LT3114u Netbook|
* Ubuntu Server 64 bit
* 1Gb Usb Flash Drive
* Another Pc running Ubuntu Desktop or UNetbootin

In order to setup Ubuntu linux operating system on your netbook, you must already have Ubuntu installed on another desktop/laptop or you can use a free program called UNetbootin for Windows based pc’s. In order to create the Ubuntu linux distro flash drive install disk the first thing that you are going to want to do is begin downloading the Ubuntu Server 64 bit edition to your other pc that is currently running Ubuntu Desktop. Now you may be wondering why I am having you download the server editon, instead of the desktop edition.

The reason is that I had problems with the desktop edition when I tried to install it on the netbook, but if you install the server distro then run tasksel to complete the desktop install, you will have no problems. After the Ubuntu Server .iso is done downloading, go to the USB startup disk creator located under System -> Administration, and insert the usb flash drive and load the iso image to create your ubuntu usb install disk.

After you have created the Ubuntu usb flash drive, insert it into your Gateway Netbook computer and power on the pc. Press the F2 key to change the boot order, you will want to set the usb drive to be the first booted drive. After the Ubuntu flash drive boots up, all you will have to do is install the base system. Once you have installed the base system on the netbook, you are going to want to set a root password.

sudo passwd root

Type Password

Enter super user mode:

su

Then run tasksel:

tasksel

After the window opens, check the box next to Ubuntu Desktop and then uncheck all the server options if any are selected. After you have made your selections, select the Ok button and let installation begin. After tasksel is complete with the installation, you should then reboot your computer. After you computer reboots, you will now have a working Ubuntu desktop edition running on your netbook. All you have to do now is remove the Ubuntu server kernel and replace it with the Ubuntu desktop kernel. This can be done by searching for linux-image under the Synaptic package manager.

Using Template Fields With The GridView Control In The ASP.NET Environment

Web Development No Comments »

The ASP.NET web development environment offers a number of built-in solution for displaying information from a database. One of the simplest ways of displaying databound data on an ASP.NET web page is to add a GridView control. The GridView can be created simply by opening the Database Explorer and dragging the table or view that from which you want to display information. However, the default GridView which is automatically generated in this way almost always needs some tweaking. One typical change you may want to make is to change some of the BoundFields elements to TemplateFields elements.

BoundFields are the default container for displaying data from a given column in the data source. By contrast, any content you desire can be placed inside a TemplateField element. This makes it ideal for setting up validation through the use of validation controls.

TemplateFields may contain static HTML/CSS, ASP.NET web server controls as well as databinding statements. They also offer great flexibility by allowing you to include a variety of templates to cater for the different states of the conditions arising within the GridView. There are several types of template which may be added inside a TemplateField object; the main ones are described below.

The HeaderTemplate provides a way of customizing the information which will be displayed in the header of the column in which the TemplateField is located.

The ItemTemplate is used to contain the information which you want displayed for each row of data when the GridView object is not selected for editing.

The EditItemTemplate is used to display the information which you want displayed for each row of data when the GridView object is in edit mode. It is here that you would place the controls necessary for validation.

Typically, you would display the information currently held in the database by adding a TextBox control inside the EditItemTemplate and databind it to the appropriate column from the data source using a statement like Bind(“FirstName”). Inside the same EditItemTemplate, you would then place the necessary validation control. For example, if you want to ensure that the field is not left blank when the form is submitted, you would insert a RequiredFieldValidator control.
