So, in turn, your taxable income is minus expenses. A reputable umbrella company should charge you a set fee rather then vary their fees according to what you earn. This is because there is no extra work involved for the umbrella company if you earn $100 a day or $1000 a day. Due to the work that the company needs to do, charging a fixed rate below $50 per week is the only option to go for. Avoid any company that states otherwise. Your agency, if you have one, may recommend particular umbrella company to you but that is not often the best option because they are basing that recommendation on an incentive rather than giving their honest opinion.
